A standard device in alpine rescueing. Built for all missions, where persons need to be roped up or down in steep rock terrain over long distances. Es-pecially itf the rock has many steps or edges, the steelrope is better suited than the fibrerope becau-se it far more resistant against damages caused by sharp edges.
The sled-shaped steel tubinging frame with 4-po-int rest and integrated anchoring bow guarantees optimum standing - stability, as it "finds" its opti-mum standing position by itselfes even under the most difficult anchoring situations. This frame con-struction also gives best efficiency and power - transmission for cranking. This is especially impor-tant when you need to rope up over long distances, the purpose for which the steel cable is suited best.
The brake block is made from a special plastic composition for optimum friction and best rope - protection and is equiped with two independently acting safety pawls.
The planetary gear with needle bearings is integrated into the brake-block for best weather- and shock protection. All components of the gear are galvanized and permanently greased. The Steelrope Winch 820 is therefore practically maintenance - free. The winch has a gear-ratio of 1:18 to ensure economic yet fast ropeing up. The cranks can be detached and stored inside the wich - frame for transportation. For longevidity, the whole frame of the winch is structure - powdercoated and all moveing parts galvanized. To be used exclusiv-ely with the special 5,1 mm Rescue - Steelrope.
